This course will help parents of children aged 6-12 identify anxiety symptoms in their children and implement preventive strategies to mitigate the risk of developing chronic anxiety disorders later in life. Parents will discover how negative thoughts and anxiety start in a child’s mind, implement tools to recognize different types of anxiety and apply strategies to help their children overcome their anxiety and build their self-esteem.

Session 1:  Understanding Anxiety and Negative thinking

Explore different types of anxiety disorders prevalent in children, the causes of anxiety, and how it manifests in children. Develop effective communication strategies to help your child recognize their anxiety, encouraging open dialogue and trust. 

Session 2:  Building Healthy Self-Esteem

Learn how you can help your child develop resilience and coping strategies to manage anxiety, including building self-regulation skills, problem-solving skills, and social support networks.

Session 3:  Family Dynamics and Parent-Selfcare

Learn about fostering a supportive family environment, maintaining open communication, address conflicts or disruptions caused by anxiety, and find balance between meeting your child's needs and maintaining family harmony.
