Resilience Advantage: Skills for Personal and Professional Effectiveness for Stressful and Demanding Careers

Join us for a dynamic blend of academic and hands on activities designed to develop your resilience, confidence and ability to attain a work/life balance during stressful and demanding conditions. The 2 hour course over the course of 3 weeks is facilitated by the internationally renowned keynote speaker and content expert Dr. Tania Diaz. During the course you will learn how to lower your heart rate variability through a series of experiential exercises designed to induce a greater sense of calm and focus while concurrently learning how to insulate yourself against stress. Upon completion of the 3 week course, the students will have:

  1. Increased their personal resilience and energy levels.
  2. Leveraged their ability to think clearly under pressure and discern appropriate solutions to problems.
  3. Increased their ability to maintain situational awareness.
  4. Diminished symptoms of personal and work-related stress such as overwhelm, frustration, fatigue and sleep disturbance.

Session 1:

Session 1 will focus on getting to know each other and exploring ways stress can impact the body, mind and interpersonal relationships. As a foundation, we will engage in a few reflective activities to highlight our principles. A base line assessment prior to learning the breathing protocol will be conducted, stress levels measured, and your action plan will be addressed.

Session 2:

Session 2 will discuss the physiology of stress and the mechanics on how you can lower your heart rate variability and teach the body on how to activate the parasympathetic branch of your central nervous system. The lesson will provide lecture and experiential exercises.

Session 3:

Session 3 will seek to address your unanswered questions and support you in your action plan.  A post assessment following your training will be conducted, stress levels measured and discussion of how to best support you in the development of your ongoing action planning will be performed.
