Entrepreneur Me!: Entrepreneur Bootcamp for Middle and HS Students

Are you a middle or high school student with an idea for a business or non-profit? Do you want a stronger college application where you show your interest in business and entrepreneurship? Would you also like to build leadership competencies that can be used beyond school? This course is designed to facilitate your creative business idea(s) by helping you understand the who, what, when, where, and why of the entrepreneurial journey. Experiential, reflective, and peer-to-peer learning make this six-week course fun, engaging, and real-world applicable for every student. The course instructor, Michellea Millis Rucker, has over 20 years of education teaching, mentoring, and coaching students in grades 7-12. Her training and expertise as an entrepreneur of 7 years of an LLC and a 501 (c)3, including her Master’s in Managerial Leadership and All But Dissertation for a Doctorate in Leadership, make her a subject matter expert in entrepreneurship and leadership development.

Session 1: To Be or Not to Be an Entrepreneur

Session 3:  Friendraising for Entrepreneurs

  • Entrepreneur 103-BIZ  funding resources
  • Peer-to-Peer Feedback

  • Peer to Peer networking and collaboration

Session 4:  Get Ready Freddy

Participants will focus on: 

  • Community agreements and team building
  • Entrepreneur 104- Business Plan Drafty Draft
  • Peer-to-Peer Feedback
  • Group Coaching
  • Peer to Peer networking and collaboration

Session 5:  Ready Freddy

Participants will focus on:

  • Community agreements and team building
  • Entrepreneur 105- Business Plan Final
  • Peer-to-Peer Feedback
  • Group Coaching
  • Peer to Peer networking and collaboration 

Session 6:  Show Your Know

Participants will focus on:

  • Community agreements and team building
  • Entrepreneur 106-Mock Guppie Tank (modeled after Shark Tank) with featured youth entrepreneurs ( TBA)
